Narayanpet is a town, in Mahbubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Narayanpet is well connected with roads. Narayanpet is around 165 KM from Hyderabad capital city of AP. The town specializes in handloom saree manufacturing. It was noted for the manufacture of superior silk and cotton Saris and slippers of colored leather.
After dyeing and drying the yarn it is converted to thread and is loaded as warp into a beam and then it is loaded into the loom for actual weaving. It is also rolled over small sticks to use for wept. A Weaver can make 30 sarees from one beam of warp. It will take 40 to 45 days to complete weaving of one beam. The weaver will get a remuneration of around `60 to `70 per saree. Narayanpet handloom sarees are traditionally woven in the interlocked-weft technique.
